Kaminarimon

The legend says that in the year 628, two brothers fished a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida River, and even though they put the statue back into the river, it always returned to them. Consequently, Sensoji was built there for the goddess of Kannon. The temple was completed in 645, making it Tokyo's oldest temple.

This is the "Thunder Gate" of Sensoji Temple located at Asakusa, taken on the last night of my stay at Tokyo T_T

A place you must visit at Tokyo, with loads of awesome architectures (within walking distance) and shops (middle of the picture, both left and right are shops in the morning) along the road straight to the temple.

One of the many temple at my hometown. This one with some happening history that lead to its current "cold" state. Kinda swallowed by all the development around the temple area.
