Mark 12:31-32

Mark 12:31-32 - 'And you shall love the LORD our God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' That is the first commandment. "And the second, like it, is this : 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Segenting, Batu Pahat #2

Quote of the day : Sometimes it sucks being strong. Because when people know that you are strong, they think that it is okay to hurt you, over and over again.

Paint or Snap?

Quote of the day : If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. - Milton Berle

While digital camera is being more and more advance year after year, there is still people who prefer to capture the scene with paintings, and surprisingly I found them at one of the most advance country in the world!

Suicidal Thoughts?

Quote of the day : Tough time never last, but tough people do! - Robert H. Schuller

Life is fragile. Yes, no doubt about it. Everyday people are dying around the world. Young or old, we are ought to die one day as well. But still, we are alive now and we should make full use of the live that God gave us!

I just don't understand why some people choose to end their life when they are still healthy and breathing? Everyday, we strive to survive in this world. Many others fight for their life just to live a little longer and some even wanted to live so badly that they can't even leave this world in peace. So why they choose to end their life when they are given the chance to live a better life?

I gotten the news that one of my hi-bye friend from University committed suicide yesterday. He is working at Singapore as well, and the last time I meet him was about like 2 months ago? We are not close, but no doubt it somehow had an impact on me. He seems to be a nice guy, sporting, having a degree, a job, healthy and a life! So I don't see why he choose to end his life. Working stress? Oh come on, he is just 24 this year, haven't even work for 1 year! Just change a job! Why suicide?

Its sad that I lost a friend just like that. Why nobody know that he is suffering from the inside? Why can't he share his problem with all the friends he have at Singapore? Why he never think about those that are left in this world when he is gone? A lot of why goes unanswered.

Tough time never last, but tough people do! - Robert H. Schuller

This is not just a quote, in fact it is a book you can easily find at bookstore. I have yet to read this book, but I bet it does help when life gets tough. I have read the other book by the same author, The Be-Happy Attitude, and is one of the best book I have read so far.

Everyone faces problem no matter who you are, rich or poor, but not everyone are unhappy!

Set your expectation lower, be easy on yourself! You have the power to choose to be happy or the other way round. Don't hide at home! Go out meet people, hook out with friends, join a local church or social club, and there are a lot of things you can do to change your life! Hiding at home alone will just make the situation worse. What is the worse sentence in the world? Solitary confinement!

Shit happens, not just to you but me as well, and everybody else. But how we look at the situation determines how we will react to it. Remember, you control your life! As long as we are alive, we can make a difference.

May you rest in peace, my friend.

CNY @ Suntec City

Quote of the day : The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything. - Albert Einstein

Alas, some Dragon thingy for this CNY season! This golden dragon sits outside of the entrance of Suntec City leading to the MRT station. Can say this is the best CNY decoration I saw at Singapore for this year, although not really satisfy with the result of all the decoration hunting I had made for this CNY season. Maybe if I reach back Batu Pahat early tomorrow, I will make a trip to the mall and see what I have over there.

Bling-bling CNY @ Marina Squre

Quote of the day : Just because a person smiles all the time, doesn't mean their life is perfect. That smile is a symbol of hope & strength.

Another bling-bling CNY decoration at Marina Square. Was there the night before this picture was taken and saw those bling-bling appear to be looking good. So the next day I travelled all the way back to Marina Square again to realize that the shot can only be taken at night. Why? Because of the material they use for the roof. Shoot it after many many hours of waiting, can't really wait till the sky turn dark as I was rushing to another place after that. SKY Y U NO DARK EARLIER? =.=|||

CNY @ Chinatown

Video of the day :

This is the biggest dragon I have seen at Singapore this year, laying in the middle of the road. No zoom lens so I ended up with this picture, all for not having a zoom lens.

CNY @ Marina Square

If you want to do something big in your life, you must remember that shyness is only the mind. If you think shy, you act shy. If you think confident, you act confident. Therefore, never let shyness conquer your mind. - Arfa Karim Randhawa (1995-2012)

This is the philosophy of life of this amazing girl, Arfa Karim Randhawa. Its just so sad that such a bright girl passed away at such young age. May you rest in peace.

Went to CNY Decoration Hunting and was really disappointed with what I can find at Singapore. Picture says a thousand words! Hrmph...

PS : Or am I looking at the wrong place?

First year anniversary!

Count your garden by the flowers,
Never by the leaves that fall.
Count your days by the golden hours,
Don't remember clouds at all.
Count your night by stars, not shadows,
Count your life with smiles, not tears,
And with joy on every birthday,
Count your age by friends, not years.

Its been a while now, thou not as consistent as last time, but still trying my very best to come out with some interesting pictures out of my boring work life at Singapore. Here is the compilation of some of the best pictures I have shared for the past year. How time flies and so many things happened in my life, good and bad. 1 year ago at this very date, I am still a student at MMU, struggling with my FYP, and here I am now working at Singapore. Wonder where will I be and where my blog is heading this exact date next year? @.@

Gion, Kyoto

Quote of the day : If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. - Milton Berle

Gion is Kyoto's most famous geisha district filled with traditional wooden machiya merchant houses turn shops, restaurants and ochaya (teahouses) where geiko (Kyoto dialect for geisha) and maiko (geisha apprentices) entertain.

CNY Decoration Shop

This shop does not appear to be anything special to me, but there is a lot of tourist shooting from the outside. With my camera on my hand, I just jumped in and join the crowd to snap this picture. So this is some of the many many kind of decorations available for this year dragon year!

PS : Kinda disappointed with the decoration at Chinatown, Singapore this year. Or is it just me for having too high of expectation with the decorations?

Silent Night

Quote of the day : The sky has never been the limit. We are our own limits. It’s then about breaking our personal limits and outgrowing ourselves to live our best lives.

Jurong Bird Park, The Shoebill

Quote of the day : Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein. – Life’s Little Instruction Book, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

This Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) also known as Whalehead or Shoe-billed Stork can be found at Jurong Birdpark, Singapore. One of the special bird I saw at the whole birdpark due to its massive shoe-shaped bill. Apart from its massive bill, its angry bird stare is another one of the kind.

Segenting, Batu Pahat

This is a sunset shot taken too early for sunset! But anyway it appear to be looking good so I just post it up here anyway. This is taken at the fisherman village of my humble hometown, few kilometers hilly ride out of town to reach here. Segenting is what they called it here, with a number of seafood restaurant and a popular temple resides at the seaside.

Ohya Happy New Year by the way!
