Mark 12:31-32

Mark 12:31-32 - 'And you shall love the LORD our God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' That is the first commandment. "And the second, like it, is this : 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Christmas @ Orchard, Singapore

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Merry Christmas guys!!!
(Yeap I know I am late, but oh well the other part of the world is still celebrating Christmas now =X)

Alright, this year I don't really snap any picture using my DSLR. Had been busy serving for this year Christmas season and only have the time to walk around on Christmas day itself, with only my Samsung S3 with me.

Here is an idea of how it looks like at the famous Orchard Road during Christmas. You don't want to miss Orchard Road during Christmas. #truestory

The Platinum Fashion Mall

Quote of the day - If you think down, you will go down. If you think up, you will go up. You’ll always travel in the direction of your thinking. - T. D. Jakes

* Okay this would be the last and final post from me, if and only if the world ends tomorrow! LOL. *
* Too bad, life goes on if it isn't.*

Planning a shopping spree at Thailand? Then you must note down this spot/mall which can easily take up one whole day of your time at this country. True story, trust me. (subject to changes depending on your gender)

Located at the heart of Bangkok, presenting you the largest fashion mall at Thailand (as stated on its website), The Platinum Fashion Mall which you can see on the right hand side in this picture below.

You can totally go crazy in this mall.

City Light Church @ Penang, Malaysia

Quote of the day - Change your habit, and your habit will change your life.

First view of my church at Penang!

Amazing setup all done by our own church members! Months of sweats, sacrifices and hardwork from each of them which finally pay off with the birth of this amazing new place that we can call home.

Rays of Hope

Quote of the day -  Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can't rain forever

It has been raining lately at Singapore, and looking out from the window of my room I saw this stormy scene heading my way. At that point of time, I was thinking to myself,  "okay there is going to be a big storm rain coming, which is bad and the stormy cloud is kind of dramatic".

After shooting the first frame, I realized something else in the scene. Instead of the dramatic cloud that caught my attention at first, I was now drawn by the ray that sits in the middle of the clouds. This scene then reminds me again;

No matter how stormy the situation that we are in now, there is always a ray of hope sitting inside the it.
It might be stormy now, but it can't rain forever.
After every storm, there is always rainbow (or at least sunshine) for those who get through.

Stay strong, keep moving forward, keep believing, stay positive and have hope.
God Bless

PS : Remember, we can choose to focus on the storm or the rays of hope. The choice is in our hand :)

Catching the Wave

Quote of the day - Worrying is wasting energy on the things you can't control. Leave everything in God's hand. Think less, pray more.

Is it me or what? All my Bintan beach pictures seems to be on lonely themed. #foreveralonemodeon

Waiting to be Picked

Quote of the day - Being single isn't what sucks, what sucks is being lonely and losing faith in finding that special someone. #justsaying

This picture below was shot last weekend during my company incentive trip to Clubmed Bintan at Indonesia. Quite a nice place to go for family or honeymoon couple, with loads of activities you can participate with your family/partner, packaged with beautiful people as well as scenery.

These kayaks were seated there at the beach whole day waiting just to be picked by someone for row.

PS : The only thing I do not like about Bintan is the weather >.<

A Step of Faith, Transformer XP 2.0 - The Rising

For we walk by faith, not by sight. - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Penang, or more precisely City Light Church is like a second home to me.

Never thought that one awesome weekend spent with my spiritual family here in this little island on the north would cost me to start thinking about my life all over again, how and where will I be if I were to head straight to Penang instead of Singapore, and what life would be 5 years down the road if I were to stay at Singapore.

Nobody really knows, but I am confident to say that life would definitely be a lot more different at Penang, that is for sure.

The serene sunset view with the breeze and waves, together with Elson and Philips having some men time during the camp.

The Girl Who Melt Hearts

Quote of the day - Guys usually lost the stars while chasing the moon, while girls usually lost the moon choosing the stars.

Alright, it is not that I am neglecting my blog (oh dear, my poor blog), but life had been so monotonous for me that nothing is really worth writing about. Its been a year I am at Singapore now, owh how time flies!

Below is this cutie I met during the lantern festival celebration with the kids for their out reach night. The result of an American dad and chinese mum (If I did not get the wrong info). She requested me to snap this below picture of her, how cute is that?

Owh how I wished that I have a girl like her next time.

PS : Thanks to the few people who told me they dropped by my blog, will keep it updated from time to time with my monotonous life pictures >.<

Garden by the Bay, Singapore

Quote of the day - Men are created by God to protect women.

The below pictures is what you can see at The Garden by the Bay, Singapore.

This is the so called super tree, the gigantic avatar-ish tree which stands proudly in a ring of circle at the middle of the garden. All the super trees are linked together by the bridge, where you can pay to go up for a walk. A good place for a family bonding place, or for couples who would like to spend some time enjoying the mother nature while having a date.

2012 Bangkok, Thailand Trip

Okie, I finally have the time and mood to write about the trip to Bangkok. Loads of ups and downs recently that had prevented me to work on this post.

Here are the 5 sisters I went with, kind of like I am just tagging along for their shopping spree. We scooted our way to Bangkok with the new Singapore budget airline.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Quote of the day : We will probably never understand Black Holes. Or, why women fall madly in love with douchebags. - Zag

Girls (and guys who shop), ever heard of Chatuchak at Thailand? I think this is one of the place on Earth where most girls will suddenly gained the strength to walk for one whole day, some non-stop. All that is possible because this is one of the world's largest weekend markets you can find on Earth. It covers the total area of 27 acres, altogether divided into 27 Sections and contains more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand. Best of all, they are all cheap!

So if you are up for some shopping spree at Thailand, you should not miss this place.

This picture below is taken outside the MRT station, showing the long stretch of people walking to and from the market. You can walk to the market from the MRT  station (Align at Mo Chit station) which is around less than 500m walk. (I think?)

Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand

Quote of the day : Do not chase people. Be you and do your own thing and work hard. The right people who belong in your life will come to you and stay. - Wu Tang

Its been a while, and finally I managed to get myself on a trip to Thailand this time. Though did not get a lot of pictures from this trip, oh well, better than nothing right?

Here is the view inside of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok at Thailand. Just love the architecture inside airport as there will normally decorated with loads of fancy lightings. Shoot handheld this time without my tripod.

Here is another two from Haneda airport. (here and here)

The Old VS New

Quote of the day - Love isn't complicated, people are.

This picture shows both the alley for the old and new architecture. Taken at my hometown while I went for walk some time ago around the old town area, its quite a sad sight to see all the old houses being renovated to become the new one. Sooner or later the old town is just gonna evaporated bit by bit with time.

Back to this picture, just see how many stuff is missing between the two style, or should I say concrete? Thats why most of the time I would prefer those older architecture than the new architecture.

PS : I am not neglecting the blog, its just that I got no pictures worth posting here. Its been 2 years since the last time I went travelling :(

Expresspass

Quote of the day : If your skies are grey today, paint your own rainbow

Any idea where this is in Singapore? Stumble upon this underpass and was not in a rush, so I decided to stop by and take this shot since nobody is there in the frame to "decorate" the picture. I am actually quite surprised to find this underpass hidden in the middle of the expressway. (If I am not mistaken about the expressway part)

Arts Alive 3 #3

Alright, the last post on the last play for Arts Alive 3, 2012.

This last piece is called "Closed Quarters" played by the Upper Secondary Drama CCA girls. Written and directed by Dwayne whom he also involves in playing the master villian, this piece talks about the life of the teenage prisoners being held captive inside a maximum security prison cell named as Closed Quarters. It talks about the teenagers life inside Closed Quarters with their life before they ended up there with a lot of different flashbacks from different person. It shows what they went through in life and how they ended up there. At the end they managed to work their way out to freedom with the help of audience to create the resonance effect at the right frequency to break the glass wall around them (which apparently I was so engrossed with the play until I forgotten to snap that scene)

How it looks like inside of Closed Quarters.

Arts Alive 3 #2

The second play was called "The Little One". This play talks about child soldier, inspired by the Invisible Children Documentation which I posted before that talks about Joseph Kony and what he has been doing to all the innocent children. All four of them are from Secondary 4 Drama Elective girls which insist to use this play as to spread the message about The Invisible Children.

It is a bit heavy or intense, emotionally draining and the girl really did a great job portraying those suffering (physical and mental abuse) that the innocent children gone through. Apart from that, this play was loaded with a lot of fighting, rolling and falling scene. Just imagine about how many falls they had to take during their rehearsal pains me. They did really well to make this play a success.

Arts Alive 3 #1

Went to support my cell group member's event last weekend, an event organized by St. Anthony's Canossian Secondary School called Arts Alive 3. It was awesome time spent, with 4 mind blowing dramas.

East Coast Park, Singapore

Quote of the day - Anyone who angers you conquers you.

As dull as it seems from the picture, that is what Singapore East Coast Park is to me. Went there for the first time with my work colleague and was kind of disappointed. A lot people been asking me, "Have you been to East Coast?", so I thought it is a place with pretty scenery (since it is at seaside with beach) that I have to go and have a look. All geared up to be greeted with this scene. Not much of scenery, so I turned to read the book I bought with me instead, but the weather sure ain't friendly with me on that day. =/

Oh well, perhaps I am at the wrong side of the coast.

P/S : You can see all kinds of cargo ships here thou >.<

The Waiting Place #2

Quote of the day - There is something worse than being single, that is to marry the wrong person. - Rev. Kevin Gerald

This is the view that I see during my primary school day, like at least 3 times a week I will be at here waiting for my mum/neighbor to fetch me from tuition. A big portion of my childhood is spent here, with all the Dragonball, Digimon, Pokemon, Yo-yo and etc with my mates and it was awesome time we had! Time flies indeed and looking back its been more than a decade. Gosh I am old now =/

The Waiting Place

Quote of the day - Life is meant to be a challenge, because challenges are what make you grow. - Manny Pacquiao

Going to post a series of my hometown picture for a while. Here is a view where most of the secondary school people (my generation) are familiar with. We used to wait for our parents here after class. Anybody miss her?

Flamingoes

Quote of the day : The greatest risk is the risk of riskless living. - Steven Covey

Did some digging, and this is the picture I found which is not posted. Something to keep this blog here running.

Flamingoes you can see at Jurong Bird Park. Its worth a trip there with your family. I bet the kids would have a great time at there. Ticket pricing at here.

Giant in the Park

Quote of the day : It's better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder...

How life is dull and bored like my blog pictures. >.<

PS : The blog is dying and I am dying as well! Seriously need to go for a trip. Sigh :(

Some of the pictures I took for the kids while I am at Penang, sending them off to Phuket for their class trip. They are SUPER hyped up especially for the Songkran Festival.

Lotus Lake @ Bishan Park

Quote of the day : The world has enough for everyone's need, but not for everyone's greed. - Mahatma Ghandi

One of the few lakes you can find around Bishan Park, with this one full of lotus. I wonder when is the flower season (if there is any?) so that I can add some pink into this view. Tried my best to exclude the sky when this picture was taken as the sky was kind of overcast that day, maybe I should go back and get another shot when the sky is in good mood. Adding some white and blue in this picture should looks better.

Sunset from Bishan Park Condo

Quote of the day : Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication - Leonardo da Vinci

Here is the sunset view that greeted me (if there is sunset to be seen) everyday when I knock off from work. Captured from my room and this is one of the reason why I rush back home from work everyday :D

Bishan Park Condo

Quote of the day : Surround yourself with people who know your worth. You don't need too many people to be happy, just a few real ones who appreciate you for exactly who you are.

Aha, this is the view of Bishan Park Condominium from Bishan Park, the place where I am staying now. Gotta go through the whole park to reach MRT everyday, great view and fresh air to start my day.

Grace Dieu 1927

Quote of the day : Whenever you offend a friend, apologize and make things right; For if you will admit your wrong, you may avoid a needless fight. — Sper

Ever hike up to Penang Hill before? There are several route you can take to reach the top, from the extreme route to the easy route. If you are taking the easy way up, you will definitely pass by this well preserved 85 years old house. Wonder if the real owner still lives in there.

Penang, From the Hill

Quote of the day : Don't judge each day the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant. - Robert Louis Stevenson

Went for a hike to the peak of Penang Hill with my ex-colleagues from ElSoft Research Sdn. Bhd. (one of the boss joined us this time!), just like how my intern life with them used to and had the chance to capture this shot this time when I hike with my camera.

It was a hazy Saturday morning, with a little bit of light ray penetrate through the cloud to fall on the Penang bridge.

Easter 2012 at City Light Church, Penang

This would be the longest post I had in my blog up until now!

Finally done with all the pictures I took from the Easter celebration at City Light Church, Penang! Very sorry for the delay guys, as I had a long long week and my computer is not with me for the whole week. Rushed out all the pictures in around 3 hours yesterday and this morning in editing to be uploaded by today after work (Thank God that the internet line is stable tonight!). Guess this is the best that can come out from a 3 hours work! >.<

The bulletin done by Arthur, should have taken one shot for full view instead =.="

Easter-eve, The Preparation

Its Easter at City Light Church!

Weeks (or even months) of preparations from everyone just for this one single day which carries an important meaning to all of us. Too bad I can only join them on the eve, and didn't really get to help out on anything.

Preparation at Light Hub, last run for the band.

Boys of City Light Church!

More to come tonight! Stay tuned!

Easter Production

Quote of the day : Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.

The setting for City Light Church Easter celebration. Hopefully I can manage to post process all the pictures by tonight, it has been a very very busy week for me but amazing and fruitful at the same time!

Light Hub

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Below is how it looks like inside Light Hub, a place proudly presented by City Light Church @ Penang. The hub serves as a place where we hangout and do things together. There are books you can borrow (free membership!), WIFI connection, gaming consoles (PS3, Wii etc.), board games and a lot more! Feel free to drop by and hangout with us, the hub is open from clock 0900 to 1700 on weekday and Sunday at Sunny Point, 4th Floor.

Mt. Fuji #2

Quote of the day : Knowledge is power. The more knowledge, expertise and connection you have, the easier it is for you to make a profit at the game of your choice

Another view of Mount Fuji. Don't know why, for this series of picture of this landmark view I prefer it to be a little under saturate. Maybe it is because of the mood of the cloud. Hm... Wharton say you?

Street Fighter Zero II

Quote of the day : There are no days more full than those we go back to - Colum McCann

Anybody still remember the existence of these stuff below? The thing you (most of us?) used to play last time. Kind of nostalgic to see this during a walk at Jonker Street, Malacca.

Five Story Pagoda

Quote of the day - Gratitude is an art of painting an adversity into a lovely picture - Kak Sri

I think this building is called Five Story Pagoda, an icon of Sensō-ji. I had searched around the net and it seems that I cannot find any leads on the name of this building. This low profile building is standing proudly on the left of Sensō-ji Main Hall, which is more popular among the tourist.

Why I say low profile? As you can see, I got no problem shooting this landmark (Yes its a landmark at here!) with little people inside the frame. If I can wait for another 5 minutes, I can get this picture without anybody inside the frame, but we are kind of rushing on that day. Not much people take notice of this building, and luckily its unique architecture kinda attracted my attention, else I would not have this picture added into my work collection.

The original buildings (Sensō-ji Main Hall and the Five Story Pagoda) was built in 942 by military commander, Taira no Kinmasa but unfortunately it was destroyed by fire after that. Then in 1648, both the structures were reconstructed by Tokugawa Iemitsu and Hozomon but was once again burned down during World War II in 1945. It was declared as national treasure in 1911 before being burned down during the war, thus effort in reconstructing result in both the buildings reconstructed in year 1973 which is standing until today and the top floor now houses the relic of Buddha.

P/S : I think none of us (my Japan backpacking mates) know about the popularity of this building as well.

Island of Tourism

Quote of the day : One person's craziness is another person's reality. - Tim Burton

This is a view no stranger to people at Singapore, or to the tourists. Taken from Vivocity, showing where the island of tourism (or so I think) is. Having not been to that island (it is a small island linked by a simple bridge) before, if I am not mistaken, the orange building is Sentosa Ferry Terminal, while the buildings at the back is a part (or entrance of) Universal Studios, Singapore. Might save up to make a shooting trip to Universal Studios one day.

Who is she?

Quote of the day : Life is like a camera. Focus only on what is important and you will capture it perfectly. - Linda Poindexter

Yes, and I would love to find out who this little girl is, to pass her (or her parents) this picture. This is the biggest regret (Yes, even bigger than not trying out the super famous long leg crabby when I am the only one who made it to the shop) for my trip to Japan last year. Wonder if I will ever have the chance to pass them this amazing (Thats what I think about this picture) picture or not. Hm...

P/S : That is her mum at the background :)

Sunrise @ Larkin

Quote of the day : Holding onto grudge is letting someone live rent-free in your head.

Took this shot when I was travelling back home last week at Larkin, the Bus&Taxi terminal at Johor Bahru. As you can see, everyone is busy walking to get their bus ticket and don't really take notice of my existance LOL. I was there early enough to catch sunrise, together with the flares as free gift. Maybe it is just me, but I kind of like some flares in my pictures sometimes.

Welcome to Batu Pahat

Quote of the day : There is only one success - to spend your life in your own way - Christopher Morley

This is the first view that you will see of my humble hometown if you are coming from the south. It is the same view that greeted me every time I am back home as well!

The big mall on the right is the biggest mall of the town, Batu Pahat Mall and the land that it sits on now is the place where I had spent a portion of my childhood. Its just sad that I am not able to get a camera back then for all the old buildings and memories before they are demolished. Things were so expensive back then not to say DSLR? I was like still in secondary school when they are demolished. :(

Development is good, but at the same time it kills all that is considered as priceless to the people.

PS : Added this video when I stumble it just now! How nostalgic and glad that I am in that generation of time!

Purple Helix

Quote of the day : Telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and makeing someone smile. - Paolo Coelho

The Helix Bridge, with purple light on it. The light seems to be always in purple when I am there with camera =.=

Segenting, Batu Pahat #3

Quote of the day : Life will knock us down, but we can choose to get back up.

Another sunset picture taken at my hometown. Segenting, the only "beach" here is actually the fisherman village at my hometown. So here is where it is famous with seafood. So you know where you should go for seafood if happen to visit Batu Pahat.

Who is Joseph Kony?

Shoutout of the day : Who is Joseph Kony? Know him, make him famous and most importantly stop him!

Do you know who is Joseph Kony? Yeah, it does not ring a bit right (If it does, very good!)? You are not alone. It is the same with me when I first heard about the name, Kony. We should know who he is, and do our bits to make this man as famous as possible, not for a good cause but to make him visible to the whole world!

Below is this amazing video that will tell you all about Joseph Kony, what he has done and things he is doing now, what we should do and how we can stop him to help the Invisible Children. I am amazed on the passion that resulted from just one promise that make a difference to change thousands of innocent children life. After spending half an hour watching the video, now I finally know who this bad ass Joseph Kony is.

Do not doubt how little each of us can do, everyone of us when united as one, we all can make a difference.

PS : Little Galvin is so cute!

The Red Bridge

Quote of the day : The Squat is the perfect analogy for life. It is about standing back up after something heavy takes you down.

This picture below is made on the last night when I was at Japan :(

It was like, more than a year now! Oh how I miss travelling!

Took a walk alone on the last night and walk a great distance before it was too cold for me to handle. If you have been to Asakusa before, you can see three bridges and this one in the picture is the red bridge.

The World Without Trees

Quote of the day - Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. - Dr. Seuss

Ever wonder what Earth would look like if it is without trees?

Nope, definitely not going to be like this. You can still find trees in the picture!

Black and White Love

Quote of the day : There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way - Wayne Dyer

Bit distorted, but still look like one to me >.<
