Aha, and so I am back writing about my Japan trip. As a recap, continue from here.
Took bus after visiting the Imperial Palace to Kinkaku-Ji, Temple of the Golden Pavilion.
Met with a bunch of cute secondary school boys in the bus.
They stopped at where we are, so we asked for a group photo =D Ended up they went to the same place we are going, visiting Kinkaku-Ji. Looks like a class field trip for them, perhaps.
The map of the temple, the Golden Pavilion is surrounded by a lake.
Group photo with the Golden Pavilion.
Snapped them while they are posing for their camera,
and they are friendly enough to take a picture with us.
Taking a break after a half day walk.
Want to snap the uncle and suddenly this girl walks in =.=|||
Done with Kinkaku-Ji, next we head for lunch before continue to visit Ginkaku-Ji, Temple of the Silver Pavilion.
Lunch! The famous Oyako Donburi Shop, Toriiwaro (鸟岩楼) at Kyoto. This shop offers single dish for lunch and single dish for dinner. So if you are in this shop, you have to eat what they serve, no other things for you to choose. Cannot miss this shop if you are visit Kyoto!
And seriously, 7 days a week, and they have to choose to break for business that day we are there
-_____________-||| Yes, we ended up traveling all the way to there and the shop was not open =.=||| Remember guys, they off on Wednesday!
Some temple around the housing area.
Ended up having lunch at some random ramen shop.
My baby LX3, retired LOL.
Lunch, not bad for a random picked shop.
See how tidy and clean their construction site is. The public toilet is cleaner than, well public toilet at some place here!
Searching for sign of Ginkaku-Ji. We are kinda lost here.
This cute little shop sells only stuff with rabbits.
Some kind of yummy 300円 cream puff.
The entrance to Ginkaku-Ji.
After having visited Kinkaku-Ji, we all expect to see some silver coating building. Sadly, it does not work that way. The building behind the two is the famous Temple of Silver Pavilion.
Some very well decorated sand. Not easy to come out with this kind of thingy.
An Aussie drawing the Ginkaku-Ji.
One of the things I salute about the old Japanese architecture, is the patience they have building the roof. It is often with layers and layers, like the imperial palace which took them 20years to build, and after 5years the roof will wear off and the roof need to rebuild again!
Entrance ticket to Ginkaku-Ji.
No joke, 700K円 for the small statue. 700,000円 = RM25,900k!
Guardian of the left side,
Guardian of the right side,
Guarding this temple =D
Well, this is not in the plan as they just want to have some place for rest.
Gion, Kyoto most famous Geisha District.
Just walk around for a while at Gion, then head back for dinner. All of us are dead tired and hungry so not much pictures of Gion LOL.
Back to our comfy room and call it a day. 1 day is just so not enough for Kyoto. I think we just visited 10% of it!
