Rays of Hope

Quote of the day -  Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can't rain forever

It has been raining lately at Singapore, and looking out from the window of my room I saw this stormy scene heading my way. At that point of time, I was thinking to myself,  "okay there is going to be a big storm rain coming, which is bad and the stormy cloud is kind of dramatic".

After shooting the first frame, I realized something else in the scene. Instead of the dramatic cloud that caught my attention at first, I was now drawn by the ray that sits in the middle of the clouds. This scene then reminds me again;

No matter how stormy the situation that we are in now, there is always a ray of hope sitting inside the it. 

It might be stormy now, but it can't rain forever.

After every storm, there is always rainbow (or at least sunshine) for those who get through.

Stay strong, keep moving forward, keep believing, stay positive and have hope.

PS : Remember, we can choose to focus on the storm or the rays of hope. The choice is in our hand :)

Penang, or more precisely City Light Church is like a second home to me.

Never thought that one awesome weekend spent with my spiritual family here in this little island on the north would cost me to start thinking about my life all over again, how and where will I be if I were to head straight to Penang instead of Singapore, and what life would be 5 years down the road if I were to stay at Singapore. 

Nobody really knows, but I am confident to say that life would definitely be a lot more different at Penang, that is for sure.

2012 Bangkok, Thailand Trip

Okie, I finally have the time and mood to write about the trip to Bangkok. Loads of ups and downs recently that had prevented me to work on this post. 

Here are the 5 sisters I went with, kind of like I am just tagging along for their shopping spree. We scooted our way to Bangkok with the new Singapore budget airline.

Arts Alive 3 #3

Alright, the last post on the last play for Arts Alive 3, 2012.

This last piece is called "Closed Quarters" played by the Upper Secondary Drama CCA girls. Written and directed by Dwayne whom he also involves in playing the master villian, this piece talks about the life of the teenage prisoners being held captive inside a maximum security prison cell named as Closed Quarters. It talks about the teenagers life inside Closed Quarters with their life before they ended up there with a lot of different flashbacks from different person. It shows what they went through in life and how they ended up there. At the end they managed to work their way out to freedom with the help of audience to create the resonance effect at the right frequency to break the glass wall around them (which apparently I was so engrossed with the play until I forgotten to snap that scene)

Arts Alive 3 #2

The second play was called "The Little One". This play talks about child soldier, inspired by the Invisible Children Documentation which I posted before that talks about Joseph Kony and what he has been doing to all the innocent children. All four of them are from Secondary 4 Drama Elective girls which insist to use this play as to spread the message about The Invisible Children.

It is a bit heavy or intense, emotionally draining and the girl really did a great job portraying those suffering (physical and mental abuse) that the innocent children gone through. Apart from that, this play was loaded with a lot of fighting, rolling and falling scene. Just imagine about how many falls they had to take during their rehearsal pains me. They did really well to make this play a success. 

Arts Alive 3 #1

Went to support my cell group member's event last weekend, an event organized by St. Anthony's Canossian Secondary School called Arts Alive 3. It was awesome time spent, with 4 mind blowing dramas.

This is the view that I see during my primary school day, like at least 3 times a week I will be at here waiting for my mum/neighbor to fetch me from tuition. A big portion of my childhood is spent here, with all the Dragonball, Digimon, Pokemon, Yo-yo and etc with my mates and it was awesome time we had! Time flies indeed and looking back its been more than a decade. Gosh I am old now =/

Finally done with all the pictures I took from the Easter celebration at City Light Church, Penang! Very sorry for the delay guys, as I had a long long week and my computer is not with me for the whole week. Rushed out all the pictures in around 3 hours yesterday and this morning in editing to be uploaded by today after work (Thank God that the internet line is stable tonight!). Suicidal Thoughts?

Life is fragile. Yes, no doubt about it. Everyday people are dying around the world. Young or old, we are ought to die one day as well. But still, we are alive now and we should make full use of the live that God gave us!

I just don't understand why some people choose to end their life when they are still healthy and breathing? Everyday, we strive to survive in this world. Many others fight for their life just to live a little longer and some even wanted to live so badly that they can't even leave this world in peace. So why they choose to end their life when they are given the chance to live a better life?

I gotten the news that one of my hi-bye friend from University committed suicide yesterday. He is working at Singapore as well, and the last time I meet him was about like 2 months ago? We are not close, but no doubt it somehow had an impact on me. He seems to be a nice guy, sporting, having a degree, a job, healthy and a life! So I don't see why he choose to end his life. Working stress? Oh come on, he is just 24 this year, haven't even work for 1 year! Just change a job! Why suicide?

Its sad that I lost a friend just like that. Why nobody know that he is suffering from the inside? Why can't he share his problem with all the friends he have at Singapore? Why he never think about those that are left in this world when he is gone? A lot of why goes unanswered.

This is not just a quote, in fact it is a book you can easily find at bookstore. I have yet to read this book, but I bet it does help when life gets tough. I have read the other book by the same author, The Be-Happy Attitude, and is one of the best book I have read so far.

Everyone faces problem no matter who you are, rich or poor, but not everyone are unhappy!

Set your expectation lower, be easy on yourself! You have the power to choose to be happy or the other way round. Don't hide at home! Go out meet people, hook out with friends, join a local church or social club, and there are a lot of things you can do to change your life! Hiding at home alone will just make the situation worse. What is the worse sentence in the world? Solitary confinement!

Shit happens, not just to you but me as well, and everybody else. But how we look at the situation determines how we will react to it. Remember, you control your life! As long as we are alive, we can make a difference.

Christmas service @ City Harvest Church

Went to church for the first time at Singapore after 3 months plus working here. The service is as awesome as the church is, and for this Christmas season, they prepared an awesome drama for this special Christmas service. Here is how it looks inside City Harvest Church Singapore, using my out of date Nokia N900 camera.
